Mental Health Awareness Week is hosted  by The Mental Health Foundation. MHF is a charity specialising in research and policy development, with a focus on preventing mental health problems.

For our first campaign we thought we'd join Mental Health Awareness Week as we know what an important issue it is for young people.

Over many years Young Mayors and Young Advisors have initiated and worked on projects and policy around young peoples mental health and wellbeing.. we know there is much more to do. Let us know what you think..contact us and help contribute to what is needed in Lewisham.

The theme for Mental Health Awareness week is

How do we look after each other? a bit more kindness could really help all of us!

Kindness

What kind of things do you do?  let us know!

..contacting someone you've not heard from for a while seeing how they are

..helping out with a job at home

..volunteering in the community

Share with us the kind things you have done on instagram

@lewishamyoungmayor or via the website here and if you want to we can add your picture, idea, whatever it is to our website for all to see here on the blog

..it could be a drawing or photo of you doing something kind at home..

.. a poem, story or song about kindness (your own or someone elses)

or any other ideas you have please share!
